Zambia's COVID-19 Cases Hit Over 9,000 As 10 Brought In Dead Cases Are Recorded In 24Hrs

Zambia has recorded 358 cases out of 1,568 tests done in the last 24 hours.

Minister of Health Dr Chitalu Chilufya revealed during today's COVID-19 briefing that 10 bodies were brought in dead, with six being in the capital Lusaka and four in Ndola.

In the last 24 hours, 185 people have recovered, with 74 still admitted in isolation facilities across the country, while three are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the country since the outbreak has escalated to 9021, while the number of deaths stand at 256 (83 are due to COVID-19 while 173 are COVID-19 related) and recoveries at 7,586.

The minister warned that Lusaka and Copperbelt provinces are hotspots, therefore, Zambians have been urged to be cautious.

And Dr Chilufya warned that no one will be permitted to enter markets if they are not masked up.

Dr Chilufya pointed out the need for the country to urgently deal with the spread of the pandemic.
