COVID-19: Zambia's Vice President Tests Positive

Vice President Inonge Wina has tested positive for COVID-19.

President Edgar Lungu has since wished Mrs. Wina a quick recovery.

President Lungu says the Vice-President tested positive for COVID-19 following the positive results of her daughter with whom she stays with.

The Head of State says a team of health experts was sent to evaluate her condition and decided that she be managed from home under community model.

He says Wina has mild symptoms that are being managed appropriately and that her condition is stable.

The President says the vice President is in High spirit and working virtually under the new normal.

President Lungu says the Vice-President is looking forward to returning to office after recovery and continue advocating for a Covid-19 free Zambia.

This is contained in a statement made available to ZNBC News in Lusaka Wednesday evening by special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Isaac Chipampe.
