Zambia: 4 Million Kwacha Released For Face Mask Suppliers

Government has released K4 million for payment of suppliers of face masks in Lusaka Province.

Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary Elias Kamanga says the funds were released following the completion of the verification of details for about one hundred small scale entrepreneurs who supplied face masks.

Kamanga says the entrepreneurs were engaged to supply about 400,000 masks to all districts in the Province.

He has thanked government for promptly releasing the funds adding that he will ensure all the suppliers are paid promptly.

In an interview with ZNBC news, Kamanga thanked the suppliers for exercising patience while documents were being processed.

He said in line with the Presidential directive on re-opening of schools amidst Covid 19, which included provision of face masks to all learners and teachers, the Province is also analysing needs ahead of the third term re opening of schools for examination.
