Football Association Of Zambia, Micho Part Ways

By Michael Kaumba

Chipolopolo Head Coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic has been fired from his post with immediate effect.

This follows talks between the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- and Micho this morning at which the decision was made.

FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala has confirmed the development in a statement to ZNBC Sport.

FAZ has since thanked Micho for having steered the Chipolopolo from February 3rd, 2020, to date and wished him luck in his next assignment.

Meanwhile, Micho has also thanked FAZ and the people of Zambia for having supported him during his stay.

Micho said he will use the positive experience with Chipolopolo in his career ahead.

FAZ is expected to announce the succession roadmap in the next few days.

Micho came under increasing pressure from fans and stakeholders following the Chipolopolo’s poor showing at the ongoing COSAFA cup where they bowed out at the group stage after losing to minnows Lesotho and Eswatini.

Zambia only managed to beat Botswana and were subsequently dumped out of the tournament when they drew nil nil with hosts South Africa.
