Sierra Leone’s Bio Calls For Deep Ties With Zambia


Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio has called for deep bilateral relations between Zambia and his country in agricultural, tourism and mining sector.

President Bio explains that the bilteral relations between Zambia and Sierra Leone dated back to the 1960s.

The President made the remarks at State House in Freetown on Sunday when he received Letters of Credence from Zambia’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Richard Mwanza who is also accredited as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Zambia to Sierra Leone on a non- residential basis .

President Bio is hopeful that the two countries would sign agreements in various areas of collaboration for mutual socio-economic benefit .

And Mwanza pledged to work closely with Sierra Leone to cement the existing relations with Zambia by facilitating collaborations in areas of mutual interest.

He ackowledged how President Bio has taken keen interest in agriculture by encouraging the people of Sierra Leone to involve themselves in farming to foster the country ‘s food security.

This is according to a statement issued by First Secretary Economic and Trade at Zambia's High Commission in Accra Ghana, Hellen Zulu Masongo.
