Scotland Told Not To Belittle Zambia

By Wilson Mulinda

The Democracy and Motherland Defenders Coalition says it will not sit back and watch foreigners interfere in Zambia’s electoral process in the name of being election observers.

Coalition Spokesperson Andrew Ntewewe has also advised Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Scotland not to belittle Zambia or President Edgar Lungu.

Speaking during a press briefing, Ntewewe said Zambia is a sovereign state that can run its own affairs.

He said Zambian agencies should be the ones spearheading peace pledges and not the Commonwealth.

He said the peace accord is clearly an intervention in the electoral process which should not be tolerated.

Ntewewe said Zambians would have been surprised if President Edgar Lungu had attended the peace accord.
