Zambia: ECZ To Give Peaceful, Fair Election

By Hannok Kasama-The Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- says it is committed to delivering a peaceful, fair and impartial general election.

Chief Electoral Officer PATRICK NSHINDANO has also reiterated the printing of ballot papers for the August 12,2021 polls in DUBAI, United Arabs Emirate is almost completed.

Mr. NSHINDANO said this in LUSAKA at an occasion to mark the signing of a peace accord between the Patriotic Front-PF and United Party for National Development-UPND.

At the same event, Inspector General of Police KAKOMA KANGANJA announced that 61 people have been arrested on electoral violence related activities.

Mr. KANGANJA further announced that properties worth over One million 800 Kwacha have vandalised in the electoral fracas.

And PF Secretary General Davies Mwila warned that his party will not condone violence among its members.

Meanwhile, UPND Secretary General BATUKE IMENDA said peaceful co-existence among Zambians regardless of political affiliation is cardinal to maintaining the country’s peaceful climate.
