Zambia: HH Clears Air On Ministry Of Religious Affairs

By Mark Ziligone:

President Hakainde Hichilema says the removal of the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious Affairs does not in any way exclude the church from governance.

President Hichilema says this is because the church is one of the major governance pillars which the UPND will continue to engage.

The Head of State was speaking during the National Ecumenical Thanksgiving prayers for the peaceful election at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka.

President Hichilema said Zambia shall remain a Christian Nation and Government will strive to ensure that the declaration is not only in words but in deeds too.

He said under his leadership stealing is prohibited and his Government will by words and actions.

President Hichileme has since called on Zambians remain united and peaceful.

And Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia -EFZ- board Chairperson Bishop Paul Mususu encouraged Zambians to remain remained united.
