Zimbabwe: National hero, SK Moyo to be laid to rest this Monday

All is set for the burial of the late national hero, Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo at the National Heroes Acre this Monday.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa will this Monday lead the nation as Zimbabwe lays to rest one of its finest sons, Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo, who died last week.
All is now set for the burial following the arrival in Harare of the national hero’s body from Bulawayo this Saturday.
Colleagues, who converged at the late national hero’s home in Borrowdale, Harare this Sunday described Ambassador Moyo as a humble cadre and an intellectual liberator.
Family spokesperson, Isaac Moyo, who is the younger brother to the late national hero expressed gratitude to government for honouring his brother.
Cde Simon Khaya Moyo died last week at Mater Dei hospital in Bulawayo after a long battle with cancer.
Cde Khaya-Moyo joined the nationalist movement in 1968 as a member of the Zimbabwe African People’s Union (ZAPU).

He left the country for Lusaka in Zambia in 1968 to join the liberation struggle. While in Zambia, senior Zapu officials agreed to send him for studies.
