Zambia: Chalimbana Develops Leadership Program for MPs

Chalimbana University has developed a training programme in Leadership and Governance for Members of Parliament.

The institution has partnered with the Coalition of African Parliamentarians against HIV/AIDS -CAPAH- to offer a degree programme to the law makers.

And First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly ATTRACTOR CHISANGANO has urged parliamentarians to take advantage of the training programme and enroll.

Leading a delegation of parliamentarians on a familiarization tour of the tertiary institution Ms. CHISANGANO said leadership and governance training for law makers is cardinal in the management of public affairs.

The Deputy Speaker added that she is hopeful that parliamentarians will attain further skills in leadership and public affairs management.

Meanwhile Education Minister DOUGLAS SIAKALIMA said Government will support the program for quality leadership.

Mr. SIAKALIMA further commended the university for coming up with the training programme and that MPs will benefit from it.

And Chalimbana University Vice Chancellor GEOFFREY TAMBULUKANI said the institution is ready to start offering the degree programme.

Dr. TAMBULUKANI said the programme will go a long way in expanding the institution’s academic profile.
